U.S. Project Management Conferences Worth Attending in 2024!

Summary:  If you’re a project manager working in small businesses, nonprofits, or startups, we’ve gone ahead and found the best conferences for you in the U.S. for 2024. Use the time we saved you to book your reservations and find a great place to stay.

Staying In the Know and Shifting to In-Person

If you’re working in technology, specifically on the project/program management side of things, we’ve compiled some of the most relevant conferences happening this year in the U.S. We’ve also snuck in a few others that cover common project management and business automation tools.

As Tuck team members, we’re looking forward to learning (and talking) more about how technology will be transforming project and program management in 2024. With so many project management and business automation tools rolling out AI-powered functionalities, PMs who choose to become early adopters can bring more value to their companies.

And what better way to educate oneself about all these transformation than in person? One of our takeaways from being a remote-first company is an appreciation for learning and networking in real life. We’ve been to a fair number of online-only conferences and events, and while some of them were incredibly well-produced, there’s no substitute for shaking hands and sharing experiences with 300+ strangers.

Below is a list of the best project management conferences you can attend in 2024:

South by Southwest

Austin, TX

March 8-16, 2024

While this annual event was definitely not created for project managers, it makes for one of the best excuses to see great musical performances while learning about the latest technology. The legendary SXSW started as a cultural event, but it’s developed a side gig: a showcase for tech industry insiders to debut new products and network. Check out the festival’s vast array of cultural and professional events here.

TriAgile is the Southeast’s premier not-for-profit Agile conference. Project Management Symposium

College Park, MD

April 18-19, 2024

Agile & Beyond

Detroit, MI

Agile + DevOps USA

Orlando, FL

October 20-25, 2024

Agile + DevOps USA brings together practitioners seeking to accelerate the delivery of reliable, secure software applications. Attendees will learn how to leverage agile and DevOps concepts to improve deployment frequency and time to market, reduce lead time, and deliver stable new features. Formerly divided into East and West events, the combined conference is becoming one powerhouse event featuring sessions on CI/CD, AI/ML, Product Ownership, and Scum practices. And yes, the venue is next to Disney World. Learn more about it here.

Bon Voyage!

Have you attended any of these conferences in the past? We’d love to hear about any highlights or memorable moments, as well as any tips you may have for future attendees! As a remote-first organization, we’re always looking for opportunities to connect with colleagues and peers (and conferences are a great excuse to learn about a new city!). We’ll be posting about our future conference plans on this blog and on our LinkedIn page.

Right now, we’re looking forward to attending the Nonprofit Technology Conference in Portland, OR on March 13-15. We look forward to learning how nonprofits are harnessing technology to further their missions. We’re going to be talking about how nonprofits can benefit from adopting ClickUp (we’re a Ruby partner) and HubSpot will help them manage projects, grants, and their donor base. If you’re interested in connecting, send us a InMail message or book time with us here.

Green Project Management: 5 Tips to Eliminate Waste

Tuck is a consulting firm focused on project management; of course we’re going to apply project management principles to address this problem – specifically, lean project management. Lean project management originated from the Toyota Production System, a concept developed at the carmaker between 1948 and 1975 to maximize value while minimizing waste (of effort, materials, money, and time).
