The Challenge

PMC’s existing local managed services provider was unable to support the organization’s complex, global IT needs. With staff operating in Vermont, across the U.S., and internationally,PMC required a partner capable of shipping, diagnosing, and maintaining devices worldwide. The success of PMC’s mission depended on maintaining a secure, distributed infrastructure for storing and sharing large volumes of video and audio content. PMC needed a strategic approach to assess its IT environment, identify best practices, and select a new managed services.

The Solution

Tuck Consulting Group worked alongside PMC in a three-phase project. First, Tuck conducted an assessment of PMC’s IT infrastructure. This included interviews with stakeholders which would then be summarized into a detailed report, recommending best practices for the firm. Next, Tuck worked closely with PMC leadership and board members to select a new managed services provider. The final phase involved overseeing the onboarding of the new vendor and providing ongoing vendor management to ensure a smooth transition and sustainable service. Furthermore, the partnership extended beyond the initial scope, with PMC requesting continued oversight to maximize the value of the new vendor relationship.

The Results

PMC successfully transitioned to a global managed services provider. With the transition, they improved in IT support, cost savings, and higher rates of reliability for its distributed workforce. The new vendor enabled PMC staff around the world to access and share mission-critical media assets securely. The engagement resulted in positive feedback from PMC leadership, who extended Tuck’s contract for ongoing vendor oversight. Today, PMC continues to benefit from an IT infrastructure that drives social change through their media. The project stands as a model for how nonprofits can leverage expert consulting to transform technology operations and amplify impact.
